Montipora spongodes – Green

Description

This is an encrusting Montipora that develops thick, elkhorn shaped branches if you let it grow. And grow it will — this is one of the fastest growing and hardiest of all montis, in my experience. It develops a nice bright green in moderate to high light.

Like all Montipora, these do best in moderate to high light and flow, and high Magnesium levels (>1300 ppm). Like any SPS, stability is important for Montis, although they’re generally less sensitive than Acropora and a good starter coral for an SPS tank.

The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, and will be similar in size. However, because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image.
