Description
The genus Acropora is the most diverse and sought after group of corals in the hobby. These corals are relatively demanding, requiring a stable and mature reef tank for success. They require moderate to high light, high flow, and do best with a little nutrients in the water. Most importantly, the like stable alkalinity and salinity at natural seawater levels (7 – 7.5 dKH, 35 ppt).
This is a specimen of Acropora nasuta with a light green base color, that develops intense pink tips under high light. The polyps are also pink to red, a striking color contrast against the green background. This color scheme looks like the Strawberry Shortcake morphs available in a few different species, but this one is grown from an imported colony of A. nasuta.
The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, and will be similar in size. However, because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image.
