Montipora digitata – Green & Purple

Description

This is a branching Montipora with colors ranging from purple to green, depending on the light. Not the brightest coral in your tank but a unique almost iridescent color by daylight. This is a very fast growing variety, almost as fast as Pocillopora or a Birdsnest (Seriatopora).

Like all Montipora, these do best in moderate to high light and flow, and high Magnesium levels (>1300 ppm). Like any SPS, stability is important for Montis, although they’re generally less sensitive than Acropora and a good starter coral for an SPS tank.

The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, and will be similar in size. However, because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image.
