Favia are LPS with encrusting or brain growth habits. These are the classic LPS – they do best in low to moderate flow and light with plenty of nutrients. But like most LPS, thyey tolerate a wide range of conditions, making them excellent choices for a new tank.
This variety has a color pattern that I’ve often seen while diving on coral reefs, but rarely in captivity. Its a striking pattern in subtle colors. These corals have large patches of blue-grey scattered randomly across a background of red-brown. The pattern remains visible and eye-catching under white lights or blues.
