The Grape Coral, Euphyllia cristata, has shorter polyps than its cousin the Torch Coral, but the same structure and range of colors. Best of all, this short-tentacled torch is faster growing and therefore less expensive than the true Torch (Euphyllia glabrescens). This is a hardy coral and a great addition to any reef tank. It will thrive in a wide range of conditions, but does best with moderate flow and light, and plenty of nutrients.
This variety is a distinctive and unique color. The tentacle tips are pale yellow, when compared to the greens we usually find in Grape Corals. Its not bright orange like those crazy (like photoshopped) Torches you’ve seen elsewhere and called “gold”. But a true pale gold.
The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, and will be similar in size. However, because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image.
Like all hard corals, this requires overnight shipping.
