Montipora capricornis – Purple

Description

This is a plating Montipora with solid purple color – base and polyps. Like any purple corals, this color is not fluorescent, so under blue lights it appears kind of dim. But under white lights its a brilliant bright purple.

This is one of the fastest growing Montis I’ve ever grown. Make some room for this one.

Like all Montipora, these do best in moderate to high light and flow, and high Magnesium levels (>1300 ppm). Like any SPS, stability is important for Montis, although they’re generally less sensitive than Acropora and a good starter coral for an SPS tank.

The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, and will be similar in size. However, because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image.
