This variety, a type of Palythoa grandis, features absolutely huge polyps the size of mushroom corals — about an inch fully open. They are a bright grass green color, under white lights or blues, with a big purple splotch in the center.
Like all zoas and palys, these like plenty of nutrients, and will thrive in a wide variety of light and flow levels. Important – this type really needs lower light; in high light they will stay closed all day and fail to thrive.
The frag you purchase will come from the same lineage as the image shown, but because of natural variation among frags yours may not look identical to this image. This variety typically has 1-2 polyps per frag.

I’m very happy with my grandis from Orchard Reef, it opened immediately in a shady spot and is nicely marbled. Just beautiful.
